1.
How do I use my student ID as a meal card?
After you have obtained a Student ID from ID Services, you can
purchase meals with your car. Meal plan
information is stored electronically on the card. Students are required to present their
Student ID card before eating at all campus dining locations. If you do not present your Student ID card,
you will not be permitted to eat.
2.
What happens if I lose my Student ID card?
Report the card as "lost" to the ID Services office (now
located at the University Center Information Desk) and they will issue you a
new Student ID card. A nominal charge
will be assessed for each replacement ID card.
Damaged ID's are replaced at no cost if you
bring the damaged ID card with you.
After receiving your new Student ID card, stop by the Office of
Residence Life to have your meal plan activated on the new card.
3.
What are Flex Dollars?
Flex Dollars are cash stored electronically on your Student ID
card as part of your meal plan. They can
be used at any campus dining location to buy additional meals, food items, snacks,
beverages, etc. Additional Flex Dollars
can be purchased separately from Residence Life or Chartwells.
Any Flex Dollars remaining on your meal plan at the end of the Fall semester are not transferred to the Spring
semester. Refunds are not given on
unused Flex Dollars at the end of semester. Be sure to budget your flex dollars
wisely to get maximum value out of your meal plan.

concern. Bringing our attention to
issues as quickly as possible will allow us to resolve potential problems
efficiently and effectively.
6.
Do I have to have a meal plan?
All students living in any residence hall on campus are required
to have a meal plan. Meal plans are
optional for students living off campus, however, having a meal plan makes
eating on campus quick, convenient, and healthy. We strive to ensure our customers receive the
most for their money.
7.
What happens to the meals I don't eat at the end of each week?
There are no more “unused meals” with Chartwells’ new
Meals-to-Flex conversion program. Under this new program, Chartwells will
convert each unused meal to $1.50 of flex dollars each week. These dollars will
be denoted as “meal plan flex” and can be checked by simply asking our cashiers
for an inquiry.
Meal-to-Flex conversation takes place every week of the fall and
spring academic semesters with the exceptions of the first week of the
semester, Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, Spring Break, Easter Break and the
last week of each semester.
8.
Can I bring a guest to eat?
Absolutely. We welcome guests at any time. You can use Flex Dollars or Redbucks to buy a
friend or family member's meal.
9.
Can I lend my card or borrow someone else's?
No. Meal plans are
non-transferable. For example, you can't
give your off-campus friends your Student ID card so they can eat meals on
campus. Only you are permitted to eat
using your Student ID card.
10.
Are there rules for conduct in the dining halls?
Yes. The dining halls
should be comfortable for everyone to gather and relax while enjoying a
meal. To meet health and safety
regulations, you are expected to wear proper attire (shirt, shoes, etc.) at all
times. Students are also expected to
clean up after themselves by returning their trays and garbage to the proper
receptacles
11.
What is the theft policy in the dining halls?
The removal of any china plates, silverware, glasses,
merchandising props, and food/beverage items (without paying for them) from any
dining facility is considered theft of property and is a crime punishable by
either disciplinary action by the Southeast Missouri State University Judiciary
Committee, by prosecution, or both. This
policy is strictly enforced in all dining operations!
Theft of food service equipment does more than raise costs, it limits the overall operation of food service. If there are more costs to replace equipment,
then there is less money to spend on menu selections.

Saturday dinner. If you have problems
with your meal plans, please contact us at 651-2569.
